Barn Owl in American chestnut. A friend who was a graduate student at Oxford University during my sabbatical there asked me to carve an owl for his wife’s 60th birthday.  She has a collection of owls on a shelf that is 200 mm high.  I carved this barn owl for her from a piece of American chestnut stem.  It looks like a baby…
